Friar Street and Charles Street

Charles Street with its handful of interesting shops leads into the atmospheric black and white Friar Street, lined with attractive timber-framed buildings including the Greyfriars (National Trust) a medieval merchant's house. These streets are now home to some of the city's most exclusive shopping: women's designer fashion (Lynne Craig, Emporio, Felice), lingerie (Aphrodite, Barbarella), men's designer wear (Pockets) jewellery (Anja Potze and Mark Linley), gifts (Ludmilla, Trend, Simply Gifted, Wish), home furnishings (Insitu, Wish) and bridal wear (Perfections, Chalmaine) as well as Birties art gallery. In a building that is packed with history, local artist David Birtwhistle sells his distinctive watercolour scenes of Worcester and the surrounding area as well as holding exhibitions of other artists' work. Worcester also boasts one of the only specialist shops for left-handed people. Left'n'Write is in Charles street and is located with Wise Owl Toys which sells educational toys for children.
