Olympic Torch Relay - Communities on Route

There are four safe gathering points to view the Torch Relay in Worcester on 24th May 2012. They are located at:
  • Barbourne Road at St. George's Square
  • High Street
  • Cathedral Island in Cathedral Grounds
  • Deansway at St. Andrew's Gardens
There are four safe gathering points to view the Torch Relay in Worcester on 25th May 2012. They are located at:
  • Elgar Statue at Cathedral Island
  • College Green
  • South Quay
  • New Road by the Cricket Ground
Please see below for further information on activities taking place at these points:
 

High Street Activities 

6.00pm - 7.30pm: Funky Faces face painting
6.15pm - 6.30pm: Moving Earth by Dancefest 
6.30pm - 7.30pm: Silurian Border Morrismen
6.00pm - 6.45pm Jaime Knight/Wooden Horse 
& 7.00pm - 7.45pm (or when torch has gone past) Jamie Knight/Wooden Horse
6.30pm - 7.30pm Juggling gentleman on stilts 
 

Worcester College of Technology & St Andrew’s Gardens Activities

- Music performance
- Sports games incl. Hula-Hooping and Badminton
- Performing arts
 

Samsung Activities:

Samsung will be driving around Worcester handing out Olympic keepsakes. See below for where you can see them: 

Locations:

  1. School of Art & Design, Barbourne Terrace

  2. Barbourne Road outside St George's Square.

  3. Charles Street, Pump Street and High Street

  4. Worcester College of Technology's All Saints campus. 

 

Lloyds TSB Branch at The Cross

Activities:

  • Handout of keepsakes outside Lloyds TSB Branch at the Cross

  • Circus themed activities such as stilt walking and juggling performed by professional entertainers
