Worcestershire County Cricket Club

Worcestershire County Cricket Club are in the top divisions in both the 4 day and 1 day versions of the game in 2009 and play their games at one of the most picturesque grounds in the world, New Road. With the cathedral providing a stunning backdrop and cricket of the highest order, it is a great day out for all ages.

Played next to the River Severn and with the imposing Cathedral in close proximity, cricket at New Road is one of the most quintessential English experiences. Former players include Tom Graveney, Basil D'Oliveira, Ian Botham, Glenn McGrath and Graeme Hick. Captained by England's Vikram Solanki and coached by former England wicketkeeper Steve Rhodes the team play in Division 1 of both the County Championship and the NatWest Pro40 as well as the Midlands section of the ever popular Twenty20 Cup competition.

All this and when you add in the famous tea and cakes on offer in the Ladies' Pavilion there cannot be any better place in England to be in the summer!
