Situated on the banks of the river Severn, just a stone's throw from the University's City Campus, The Hive will add a stunning new chapter to the story of the City which gave us the world's oldest newspaper, Elgar and Royal Worcester.
Opening this July, The Hive will bring together a range of exciting services under one amazing gold cladded roof. It will be the first fully integrated public and university library in Europe and home to more than 12 miles of original historic documents in the venue's Archives and Archaeology service, allowing inquisitive visitors to delve deep into Worcestershire's past.
But that's not all; a children's library and outdoor library island, a business centre and contemporary conference rooms will ensure that whether you are looking for fun, study, research or a place to meet, The Hive has it all.
The Hive will be a landmark building for Worcestershire, situated in a convenient central location in the heart of Worcester with excellent motorway links, picturesque surroundings and with a unique design that pays homage to its environment.
It's the product of a new and innovative partnership between Worcestershire County Council and the University of Worcester and will play an important role in the regeneration of Worcester City Centre.
Visitors can also sit back and relax with some delicious local food and drink in the cafe and browse in the on-site shop, which will be stocked with academic essentials for students and must-have souvenirs for visitors. Worcestershire residents can also benefit from an accessible customer contact centre where they can access a range of council services.
A variety of exciting pre-opening events will be taking place in the run up to the official opening. Updates, news and other developments will be available via The Hive's Facebook and Twitter pages, including details of these special 'sneak preview' events.
